Bruised Erin Molan: ‘It’s been horrendous’

PREGNANT NRL Footy Show host Erin Molan has appeared on the Today Show this morning with bruises covering her knees, just days after revealing she had suffered low blood pressure and extreme morning sickness.

The 34-year-old, who is now 25 weeks pregnant, collapsed while she was at work and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

The Sunday Telegraph reported that Channel Nine staff said she fainted and hit her head on the ground while at work on Friday.

Her scans show the baby, which is due in July, to be safe and healthy.

This morning, Molan showed her injuries following the incident as she spoke to breakfast show hosts Karl Stefanovic and Georgie Gardner.

“I think I need to slowly learn that my body is not capable of what it was this time last year and that it does put a lot of pressure on your pregnancy,” she said.

“It takes a lot of the good out of you, having a child — in a lovely blessed kind of way.

“In other words everything good is going to the baby inside me, and not too much left over for me.”

Molan revealed she fell backwards and avoided contact on her abdomen.

“Luckily my knees are black and bruised — I hit my knees, I hit my head but stomach maintained facing upwards which was good,” she said.

The Channel Nine reporter also said she had suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, which is an extreme case of pregnancy-related morning sickness.

“It’s been horrendous but I feel horrendously guilty even talking about it, because I know how blessed I am to even have children — but it’s been awful,” she added.

“It hasn’t been fun, even all the things that give me joy like alcohol, runny eggs and raw meat and sushi I can’t eat any more.”

Molan will take over from the Footy Show’s long-time host Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin in three weeks.

She is expecting her first child with police officer Sean Ogilvy.
